Wines

Our wines are produced on-site from grapes grown on land that has been in our family since the early 1800s. Our winery is located in a 100-year-old barn, and you'll enjoy our award-winning wines and your favorite beer. To learn more, please check out our Wine List.

Festivals & Events

Menard County is known for Lincoln's New Salem and great festivals. Our Summer Festivals, Chicken Wing Cook-off, and others draw thousands each year with days filled with top bands and great food.

 “Serial Killers, The Experience” Featuring Phil Chalmers

Looking for something different and exciting? Hill Prairie Winery is hosting “Serial Killers, The Experience” on March 14, 2026.  There is nothing currently like this available locally.
Phil Chalmers is a criminal profiler and one of the leading law enforcement trainers in the U.S. He has been interviewing violent offenders for 40 years, including Charles Manson, The Son of Sam, BTK, The Hillside Strangler, The Gainesville Ripper, The Smiley Face Killer, The Amityville Horror Killer and many more. He has hosted TV shows on A&E, and recently hosted a podcast “Where The Bodies are Buried” owned by Dennis Quaid.
Phil will do an in-depth dive into a specific serial killer explaining who they are, what they do, why they do it. He will even do a live interview with one over the phone and the audience can ask them questions.
